Kris Boyd, a cornerback for the New York Jets, is in critical condition at Bellevue Hospital after being shot in Midtown during the early morning hours Sunday, according to police and franchise officials via the New York Post.
Per the police, the shooting occurred not long after 2 a.m. on West 38th Street around Seventh Avenue. Police did not identify the victim.

“We are aware of the situation involving Kris Boyd and will have no further comment at this time,” stated a team representative, per the outlet.
Police sources told The Post that Boyd was shot in the abdomen while outside Sei Less restaurant following a dispute escalating into violence, with the suspect firing two rounds.

The Post’s sources stated Boyd was hanging out with friends outside the popular establishment when an argument escalated into gunfire — though it’s not clear whether or not he was the actual target.
Per the sources, the shooter fled in a BMW X6 SUV, though witnesses refused to cooperate with police.
Police said no arrests have been made and the shooting is still being investigated, according to the New York Post.
