Joe Biden Criticism Is Useless—‘He Could Spend His Time on the Beach’ [WATCH]

Vice President J.D. Vance responded Thursday to criticism from former President Joe Biden, calling Biden’s foreign policy record a “total disaster” and dismissing concerns over the Trump administration’s recent Oval Office meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Joe Biden formally apologizes for abuses committed against Native boarding school students over the past century during a visit to the Gila Crossing Community School on Oct. 25, 2024, in the Gila River Indian Community.

In an interview with Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum on The Story, Vance addressed Biden’s remarks to the BBC earlier this week, in which the former president called the meeting “beneath America.”

“I think it’s rich for Joe Biden to comment on anything that we’re doing when it comes to Russia and Ukraine. Under Biden’s administration, Russia launched the full-scale invasion of Ukraine… I wish Joe Biden the best. I don’t really care what he has to say about American foreign policy because so much of what he actually did was a total disaster.”

Vance reiterated the administration’s support for Ukrainian sovereignty but suggested the United States might reduce its role as the lead party in peace negotiations.

“We obviously want Ukraine to remain a sovereign country,” Vance stated. “We knew that the Russians’ first offer would be too much. We knew that they would ask for more than was reasonable to give. That’s how negotiations often work. I’m not bothered by that.”

He added, “What would bother me is if we conclude that the Russians are not engaging in the negotiation in good faith. And if that happens, yeah, we’re going to walk away.”

Although Russia recently rejected a ceasefire proposal, Vance expressed measured optimism. “I actually think it’s progress that they’re even talking,” he said. “We’re putting concrete peace plans on the table.”

Turning to trade policy, Vance highlighted the administration’s first formal tariff agreement with the United Kingdom.

The Trump administration earlier this year imposed a 10% reciprocal tariff on U.K. imports and other tariffs on global products, including steel and automobiles.

“Because of our long time history and allegiance together, it is a great honor to have the United Kingdom as our FIRST announcement,” President Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Many other deals, which are in serious stages of negotiation, to follow!”

Vance explained that the U.K. was chosen first due to its openness and longstanding ties with the United States.

He also addressed China’s retaliatory tariffs, emphasizing the administration’s intent to negotiate trade terms that benefit American workers and businesses.

“We just want a deal with any country, whether it’s China or anybody else that makes American workers and American businesses in a better position,” he said.

Vance also commented on ongoing investigations under the DOGE initiative. While Elon Musk has stepped back from day-to-day involvement, Vance clarified that the project remains active.

“Elon’s not disappearing,” Vance said. “Nobody said that the work of DOGE would only last 110 days and that would be it… We think there’s a lot more waste and fraud that we can find.”

He confirmed that Attorney General Pam Bondi is preparing legal action against individuals involved in large-scale fraud, with prosecutions expected in the coming years.

“I know that she’s working on building the case against some of these people who have committed absolute fraud on the American people,” Vance said.

When asked about speculation regarding friction with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vance dismissed the rumors.

“Marco’s actually my, probably my best friend in the administration,” he said. “We hang out and talk all the time. He’s doing a really good job. And, of course, I’m doing the best job that I can.”

Vance, who has been mentioned as a potential candidate for the 2028 presidential race, did not rule out a future bid.

“I can see myself doing a really good job for the next 1,100 days, and then the American people can figure it out from there,” he said.
