Jon Ashworth’s tenure at the head of Starmerite think tank Labour Together will come to an end after only a year in July. The former shadow paymaster general said he was giving it up in order to “write a book about his life in Manchester in the 1970s and 80s and launch a new podcast, along with ‘one or two other projects.‘” Considering that everyone expects him to stand again at the earliest opportunity it is not hard to guess what those projects might be.
