A new report suggests former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre had ambitions of joining the cast of The View following her departure from the Biden administration, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.
According to sources cited by Politico, Jean-Pierre had her sights set on a seat at the daytime talk show table, but the effort appears to have fallen flat.

Jean-Pierre, who served as President Joe Biden’s press secretary, was reportedly working with a New York-based publicist, Gilda Squire, while still in her official role.

Squire, a former publicity director at HarperCollins and Penguin Putnam Publishing, was reportedly copied on official White House emails during Jean-Pierre’s time in office. According to Politico, the arrangement raised eyebrows among staffers.
Squire has worked with high-profile clients and publishers, and her presence in official communications was described as informal, but frequent enough to warrant internal concern.
Jean-Pierre also appeared in several lifestyle publications during her time in the White House, including Vogue and Women’s Health, and traveled to New York for an appearance on The View.
Two former officials told Politico that Jean-Pierre had expressed interest in becoming a co-host on The View following her White House tenure.

This ambition reportedly mirrored the career path of her predecessor, Jen Psaki, who left her press secretary role for a position at MSNBC shortly after her departure from the administration.
Fox News host Jesse Watters reported that Jean-Pierre had made her interest in the co-hosting gig known, but the show ultimately did not reach back out to her.
Watters added that Jean-Pierre’s brand may now be considered “too toxic” for the daytime television platform, which has previously welcomed other Democratic figures.

Jean-Pierre is also reported to be preparing for the release of a book that touches on her time in the Biden White House, which she describes as “broken,” according to reports.
The memoir is said to provide her personal perspective on her tenure, including behind-the-scenes experiences within the administration.
Jean-Pierre, the first Black and openly gay woman to hold the press secretary position, stepped down from her role earlier in 2025. She had served in the position since May 2022.
