When you walk around with a hammer, it seems everything looks like a nail.
In today’s age of perpetual offense and vast social media platforms, it doesn’t take much to whip corporations into a panic, especially when race is brought into the equation.
Just ask Kroger, which was sent scrambling when a woman posted a video from a store in Atlanta complaining about Juneteenth cakes lacking “creativity.”
“Kroger count your days. Why even bother if you’re going to lack creativity,” the video caption read.
“I wish it was a manager here, because y’all decorate everything else around here cute,” the offended woman said in the video as she sorted through the cakes. “Everything else around here cute, but for Juneteenth, you want to just throw something on a freaking cookie cake and expect someone to buy it?”
NEW: Kroger releases statement after they went viral for their ‘Free @ Last’ cookie cakes for Juneteenth.
The company is speaking out after receiving harsh backlash online for the cakes.

Juneteenth is a leftist holiday supposedly commemorating the end of slavery — the Emancipation Proclamation notwithstanding — that former President Joe Biden or his autopen signed into law.
The cakes had simplistic designs and were decorated with messages like “Free @ last,” “June 19 free,” and one that just said, “Free.”
“This is some bullsh*t. F*ck no,” the woman said. “Who the hell made this ugly *ss sh*t?”
It wasn’t enough for the woman that the Atlanta store recognized the “holiday,” she expected to see something more commensurate with her level of entitlement.
And Kroger agreed, apparently, as the cakes were pulled and the offended woman was contacted — who else is guessing free groceries for a year?
“The cakes and cookies that were featured in the video were inconsistent with our provided guidance and not of the quality we would expect to see from our stores,” a spokesperson said in a statement. “The products have been removed, and we’ve addressed this directly with the store teams and the customer who took the initial video.”
Interestingly, some took the fact that the cakes were pulled as a positive sign that Kroger was rejecting the left’s woke agenda.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on the social media platform X:
Kroger and other companies are learning that wokeness doesn’t sell. America is healing.

They should not have put the cakes out there to begin with and bent the knee to Juneteenth. This is why I shop at H-E-B.

This has a Jussie Smollett smell to it.

Plot twist: the employees that created these sweet delicacies are black.

If you don’t like it, don’t buy it. It’s that simple. Life is too short to get upset over a cookie decoration.
