LA Dodgers pledge $1M to support illegal immigrant families subject to ICE deportations

The Los Angeles Dodgers are jumping into the debate over ICE raids for some reason, and their take is just as bad as you’d expect.

In a post published to X on Friday, the Dodgers vowed to donate one million dollars to the families of immigrants impacted by the raids, and implied further assistance is coming.

Look:

“In partnership with the City of Los Angeles, the Dodgers have committed $1 million toward direct financial assistance for families of immigrants impacted by recent events in the region. Additional community efforts to be announced in the coming days,” the team wrote.

“What’s happening in Los Angeles has reverberated among thousands upon thousands of people, and we have heard the calls for us to take a leading role on behalf of those affected,” said president and CEO of the LA Dodgers Stan Kasten. “We believe that by committing resources and taking action, we will continue to support and uplift the communities of Greater Los Angeles.”

This comes after pressure from immigration groups mounted against the Major League Baseball team, which was lambasted for its silence on the subject.

While this was popular among left-leaning locals and liberals in general, others like Buzz Patterson have vowed to never attend a Dodgers game again.

“I’m not a Dodgers fan but I go to a lot of games. Never again. Their brand is more important than what is right,” Patterson wrote.

The backlash against the team was swift:
