‘Lady Trump’ denied new trial, but who exactly is she even!?

A former Las Vegas councilwoman known as “Lady Trump” over her unabashedly right-wing views and pro-Trump support now faces 140 years in prison after being denied a new trial.

Former Las Vegas City Councilwoman Michele Fiore, a Republican, was federally indicted last summer on six counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

Federal prosecutors accused her of having solicited donations to her PAC to ostensibly fund the construction of a statue to celebrate the life of Alyn Beck, a Vegas police officer killed in 2024.

According to Law & Crime, Fiore claimed on the solicitation page of her PAC’s website that “100% of the contributions” would go toward building the status to honor Beck. But she lied.

Instead, she used the over $70,000 she’d collected “for her own personal benefit,” i.e., she reportedly spent it on rent, plastic surgery, and one of her daughter’s weddings.

A couple of months after being indicted, Fiore was convicted in October on all seven charges, each of which is punishable by 20 years in prison.

“She never cared about Officer Beck’s memory or his sacrifice,” prosecutor Alexander Gottfried said in his closing argument, according to Newsweek. “She took those donors’ money. She took it from people who were trying to do a good thing.”

After being convicted, Fiore reportedly hired a new attorney who, in turn, filed a motion for a new trial on the grounds that the first trial had been filled with “prejudicial errors.”

“Fiore’s claim stemmed primarily from the fact that testimony from her daughter and business partner, Sheena Siegel, was stricken from the record after she allegedly incriminated herself on the stand, obtained a lawyer, then subsequently asserted her Fifth Amendment privilege,” according to Law & Crime.

She also reportedly claimed there was insufficient evidence to convict her and that her lawyer had basically sucked.

U.S. District Court Judge Jennifer Dorsey did not buy Fiore’s narrative — not even a little bit.

“[T]he jury heard from a veritable who’s who of Nevada business and politics, who wrote checks to Fiore’s charitable organization or her political action committee in reliance on her promise that 100% of the donations would be used to fund the statue,” she wrote in her ruling.

“But the evidence showed that a development company paid for the statue, and not a dime of the money that Fiore raised was used for that purpose. Instead, each check was quickly converted to cash and spent on Fiore’s personal expenses like rent, cosmetic procedures, and her daughter’s wedding,” she added.

Fiore wasn’t pleased with the ruling.

“We are extremely disappointed by the order,” her current attorney, Paola Armeni, told local media. “We truly believe Ms. Fiore did not receive a fair trial is guaranteed to her as well as all of us by the United States Constitution. At this time, we will prepare for sentencing and thereafter Ms. Fiore will exercise her full appellate rights.”

Fiore reportedly became famous as “Lady Trump” when she ran to serve as Nevada’s governor in 2021 on a right-wing, pro-Trump platform that called for eliminating vaccine mandates, CRT, and voter fraud.

“I’ve spent my whole life fighting the establishment,” she said in an ad at the time. “We need outsiders, fighters, not the same old boring, moderate, compromised blue-blazer politicians.”

Fiore also received attention for her very public support of rancher Cliven Bundy during the infamous Bundy standoff in 2014.

A year later, she went viral again when she shared a photo of all of her family members, including young children, holding guns.
