Lincolnshire NHS Trust Doles Out £70,000 for ‘BAME Leadership Training’

The NHS has been taking a bit of a battering in the press lately, with reports that hospitals are trying to defy the Supreme Court ruling on biological sex and are fast-tracking ethnic minorities to top jobs to meet diversity quotas. Predictably, some of these schemes don’t come cheap…

UK DOGE’s The Waste Files has uncovered that the United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust – which runs four hospitals across Lincolnshire – has awarded a thumping £70,000 one-year contract for a ‘BME (Black, Minority Ethnic) Leadership and Talent Programme’ to one consultant, Joan Myers, for “training for BME Leadership”. The programme is supposedly dedicated to establishing a “truly diverse” NHS leadership by “strengthening the voice of black and minority ethnic communities”. Among its offerings: a bi-monthly “anti-racism” bulletin, “safe spaces” for discussing shared experiences, and leadership development sessions exclusively for BME members. Life-saving stuff…

For that you could:

  • Hire 2 junior nurses.
  • Treat 31 heart failures.
  • Fund 260 ambulance call-outs.

The taxpayer may have a view on which should be prioritised. UK DOGE recommends costs are cut here…
