At the beginning of the meeting attendees were told by Green planning councillor Ian Tysh that on the advice of an “eminent KC” legal action would not be taken. Halfway through the meeting Deputy Green Party Leader (and deputy leader of the council) Rachel Millward said the councillor would “consider taking action.” By the end of the meeting the ruling “Alliance for Wealden” councillors said they intended to take legal action. This happened in the space of three hours…
The ruling councillors also complained that “taking legal action costs money.” This is despite Millward launching a new £450,000 project in September to “celebrate Winnie-the-Pooh’s 100th birthday”…
Rachel Millward, who lives in a £1.6 million six-bedroom house with swimming pool, was on holiday when the Home Office was announcing its intention to house the asylum seekers. She has been ridiculed for since coming out against the government’s plans, despite local Green Party efforts to designate the entirety of East Sussex a “County of Sanctuary for Migrants”…
