London Judge Lauds Barron Trump For Calling Cops On Man Sentenced For Attacking Woman

A London judge commended Barron Trump for helping a woman during a violent attack while connected to her on a video call.

Justice Joel Bennathan praised Barron Trump for his actions before sentencing Matvei Rumiantsev, a 23-year-old Russian man, to four years in prison Friday. In his sentencing remarks, Bennathan noted that Donald Trump’s son prevented something worse from happening by, in part, relaying information to local police as quickly as possible.

Rumiantsev, a former MMA fighter, became jealous and intercepted a FaceTime call between Trump and the woman Jan. 18, 2025, before violently attacking her while she cried on the floor, according to multiple reports. Barron then contacted London police for help.

“Mr. Trump properly and responsibly, despite being in the United States, made sure the emergency services here were called, and he told them what he had seen,” Bennathan said.

Rumiantsev was convicted of assault with bodily harm and perverting the course of justice. He was acquitted of rape and choking charges. The woman, who remained unidentified, told the court that Barron helped “save her life.”

“It’s really an emergency … I’m calling from the U.S … I just got a call from a girl, you know, she’s getting beat up,” he told the operator, according to Newsweek.

Police rushed to the address and arrested Rumiantsev on scene.

Rumiantsev’s testimony included the admission that he was jealous of Barron, and felt the alleged victim — his girlfriend at the time — was leading Barron on, according to Newsweek.

Defense attorney Sasha Wass claimed that Barron wasn’t aware the woman was in a relationship and the woman used her connection to Barron as a way to make her boyfriend jealous in a “relationship full of dramas.”

Barron did not testify in court.

Bennathan described Rumiantsev as “man given to jealousy.”

“Your lack of insight and empathy was apparent at trial,” he said. “You continue to try to blame the complainant for everything that has happened.” (RELATED: Savannah Guthrie’s Gut-Wrenching Interview Reveals New Details Of Nancy Guthrie’s Disappearance)

Rumiantsev reportedly sent the woman a letter from jail asking her to retract her allegations, according to Newsweek, triggering prosecutors to issue the charge of perverting the course of justice.
