Mad woman spits on failed Trump nominee Ed Martin during TV interview

A furious woman walking her dog passed a live TV interview spat on Ed Martin, the lawyer whose nomination for U.S. attorney in the District of Columbia was yanked by President Trump.

The repulsive incident happened when Mr. Martin was talking to Newsmax outside of a D.C. building about Mr. Trump’s decision to pull his nomination amid a lack of support from Senate Republicans.

As Mr. Martin spoke to the outlet, the woman appeared in the camera’s frame and began wagging her finger in his face.

“You are Ed Martin,” she could be heard saying belligerently, after she rattled off profane hostilities at him.

She then hocked an enormous ball of spit at close range toward Mr. Martin, who was shocked.

“You are a disgusting man,” she shouted at him.

The video, which has gone viral on social media with millions of views, has some describing the action as an “assault.”

The gross confrontation happened shortly after Mr. Trump announced he was withdrawing Mr. Martin’s nomination and instead appointing Fox News host Jeanine Pirro, a former county prosecutor and elected judge, to serve as the District’s top prosecutor.

Mr. Martin lost the confidence of Senate Republicans, who recoiled over his all-out defense of the Jan. 6 Capitol rioters.

“He’s a terrific person, and he wasn’t getting the support from people that I thought,” President Trump said of Mr. Martin, whose time as acting D.C. U.S. attorney will expire May 20.
