New York City mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani has a very interesting take on what makes one qualified to lead the city.
While the United States is largely called the “melting pot” of the world, it is undisputed that NYC is considered the epicenter of that melting pot. With a cross-section of every culture imaginable being found on any street corner, it takes a special kind of leader to rally everyone together in the interest of moving forward.
And Mamdani believes that one of the things that qualifies a person to be a leader is how often they visit mosques.
Watch:
Zohran Mamdani says Cuomo is not qualified to be mayor because he didn’t visit a mosque: “He had over 10 years and he couldn’t name a single mosque that he visited! Muslims want equality and respect! Can you name a single mosque you went to in 10 years?” pic.twitter.com/uxGpjyxdwK

“He had over 10 years, and he couldn’t name a single mosque at the last debate we had that he visited! And what Muslims want in this community is what every community wants and deserves: They want equality and they want respect!” the socialist said. “And it took me to get you to even see those Muslims as part of this city. And that is something that is shameful, and is why so many New Yorkers have lost faith in this politics.”
Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo attempted to rebut Mamdani’s assertion.
“That is totally false, I’ve worked with the Muslim community for many, many years, before you were ever here,” Cuomo shot back.
“Can you name a single mosque you went to in 10 years?” Mamdani asked.
“Before you were ever in state government, I worked with the Muslim community, Imams presided over the State of the States, we worked in religious working groups, intolerance groups, antisemitic groups, etc.,” Cuomo added.
“But you couldn’t visit a mosque,” the smug candidate said, smiling at the camera.
X users reacted to the clip:
I wonder how many Buddhist Temples he’s been to.

Well, Cuomo did visit Ground Zero and there was supposed to be a mosque built there.

So this race is about who is more Muslim? I’m confused? Isn’t this America? Liberals you are about to make a huge mistake.

Christians don’t visit mosques. If Mamdani thinks a politician needs to go to a mosque, it proves they’re trying to litigate through the mosques for Sharia law.
