New York City First Lady Rama Duwaji has deleted a previously active X account after a series of past posts resurfaced showing controversial statements about Palestinian militants, Israel, and the United States military, as reported by The New York Post.
Duwaji, 28, who is married to New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, removed the account — which operated under the username @_RamaDee — shortly after reports highlighted content she had posted on X and Tumblr during her teenage years and early 20s.

The account was no longer accessible as of Thursday.
The resurfaced posts were first detailed by the Washington Free Beacon, which reported that Duwaji had published and shared content over several years that drew renewed scrutiny.

While the X account has been taken down, Duwaji’s public Instagram page, which has approximately 2 million followers, remains active.
The controversy comes after a separate report indicated that Duwaji had engaged with social media content related to Hamas’ Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel.
According to those findings, she had liked Instagram posts celebrating the attack, including one that described reports of sexual violence committed by the group as a “mass hoax.”
Additional material reviewed in recent days suggests the social media activity dates back more than a decade.
Posts attributed to Duwaji reportedly extend to 2013, when she was about 15 years old. Some of the content was linked to her through facial recognition analysis, according to the outlet.
Among the posts cited in reports was a 2015 message in which she stated that Tel Aviv “shouldn’t exist in the first place,” referring to residents as “occupiers.” Another earlier post included the use of a racial slur.
Content from her now-inactive Tumblr account also drew attention. According to reports, Duwaji shared posts praising Palestinian plane hijacker Leila Khaled and members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
Other reposted material included criticism of U.S. military actions, including a statement accusing American service members of “mercilessly slaughtering 3rd world civilians” in pursuit of “American hegemony.”
A separate repost from December 2015 reportedly blamed white people for the creation of al Qaeda.

Duwaji has not publicly addressed the controversy, and City Hall has not responded to requests for comment regarding the resurfaced content.
Mayor Mamdani, 34, did respond to questions about the situation, defending his wife while emphasizing her private status.
“My wife is the love of my life, and she’s also a private person who has held no formal position on my campaign or in my City Hall,” Mamdani said.
“I, however, was elected to represent all 8.5 million people in the city. And I believe that it’s my responsibility because of that role to answer questions about my thoughts and my politics, and my stances.”
The developments have drawn attention as scrutiny continues over the past online activity of public figures and those closely connected to elected officials.
