Man Tramples Charlie Kirk Memorial, Immediately Regrets It

A man trampling a Phoenix, Arizona memorial to assassinated Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk Sunday was tackled to the ground and later arrested by police.

Authorities arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson early Friday morning, accusing him of killing Kirk during a TPUSA event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. Memorials to Kirk have sprung up across the country in the subsequent days as supporters have held vigils for the Salem Radio Network host. “Officers were directed to a man who was seen damaging a community memorial in front of a business near 48th Street and Beverly Road,” the Phoenix Police Department said in a statement sent to the Daily Caller News Foundation. “Officers were in the area to assist with traffic control due to a large community presence in the area following recent events.”

“The man, later identified as 19-year-old Ryder Corral, was detained by witnesses until he was taken into custody by responding officers,” the statement continued, before going on to note Corral faces multiple charges, including destruction of property and disorderly conduct.

Kirk founded TPUSA, a conservative organization for college and high school students, in June 2012 when he was 18, according to the group’s website. He also hosted “The Charlie Kirk Show,” a podcast that later became a radio show on the Salem Radio Network, according to his biography on TPUSA’s website. Kirk lived in the Phoenix area at the time of his death.

Some accounts on X noted Corral’s T-shirt appeared similar to the one believed to be worn by Robinson during the assassination, according to video footage alleged to be depicting the suspected shooter.
