Marsha Blackburn Turns His Own Words Against Him in Epic Clap Back [WATCH]

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) criticized the Biden administration’s immigration policy during a recent hearing, disputing claims that the administration’s approach to border enforcement has been “sensible and humane.”

Blackburn made the remarks while referencing comments from Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), who had described the administration’s immigration policies in those terms during his opening statement.

Blackburn said Durbin had argued that the current immigration approach represented a responsible and humane way to address the issue.

She contrasted that view with her own assessment of the administration’s handling of illegal immigration and migrant children entering the United States.

“I want to go back to something Senator Durbin said in his opening statement, he referred to the Biden policy, immigration policy is sensible and humane.”

Blackburn said Durbin had framed the issue by saying there was a humane way to handle immigration and suggested the administration’s approach met that standard.

“And in his comments, he said there was a sensible and humane way to deal with immigration, but he felt like Biden’s policy was sensible and humane, and what you all are doing is not sensible and humane.”

Blackburn said the comments stood out to her as she evaluated the administration’s immigration record.

“And this struck me because the Biden administration allowed hundreds of 1000s of those illegally entering the country.”

She said the large number of illegal aliens entering the United States under the administration’s policies raised serious concerns about the effectiveness of the current system.

Blackburn also pointed to the issue of migrant children who have entered the country without their parents and later could not be located by federal authorities.

“We have seen hundreds of 1000s of migrant children that have been lost.”

The Tennessee senator said the situation surrounding those children contradicts the description of the policy as humane.

“There is nothing sensible and humane about that.”
