Each book begins engagingly with a pivotal event in the character’s life and then rewinds to unfold their life stories in a largely chronological order. Lively black and white drawings complement the prose helpfully. Both authors include plenty of funny stories as well as explaining the serious matters of theology and Christian living with which the Luthers had to grapple.
