Dare I say, the kids are … alright?
If this were the year of our Lord 2020, I would tell you that no, the kids are not alright: they’re FUBAR. They want to wear masks, worship Dr. Fauci and George Floyd, and vote for a vegetable named Joe. But, thankfully, 2025 is not the year of plagues, race reckonings, and zombified Bidenomics. It’s the year of Sydney Sweeney, American patriotism, and Trumpian capitalism. (Subscribe to MR. RIGHT, a free weekly newsletter about modern masculinity)
And now we have even more data to prove it. According to Pew Research, Gen Z men and women have swung significantly to the right from 2023 to 2025. The numbers are staggering.
Pew Research is showing some incredible partisan swings from 2023 to 2025.

In 2023, 62% of men and 65% of women between the ages of 18 and 29 were Democrats or leaned Democratic. Only 36% of men and 30% of women were Republicans or leaned Republican.
Fast foward two years, and the shift is remarkable. In 2025, 52% of men and 37% of women are Republicans, according to Pew. Millennial and Gen X men also became more conservative, with 51% of men ages 30-49 identifying as Republicans, compared to 47% in 2023. Interestingly, more men over the age of 65 became Democrats in that two-year span, and perhaps, it has to something to do with testosterone levels dropping in old age.
Nevertheless, it’s clear that our youngest generation is now more right-wing than Boomers. Back in 2020, 2021, 2022, who would’ve thought kids would actually be more conservative? As I was watching people my age posting black squares in solidarity with BLM and, later, vaccination cards on Instagram, certainly not me.
