Members Of Pro-Palestine Group Arrested After Crashing Portland State Event Hosting Riley Gaines, Charlie Kirk

Oh, Portland… Why can’t you just change?

Riley Gaines, a pro-women’s rights advocate, was up against protesters who showed aggression during her “The American Comeback Tour.” The event happened Monday at Portland State University, where she was joined by Turning Point USA cofounder Charlie Kirk.

The protesters were from a radical pro-Gaza group known as PSU Students United for Palestinian Equal Rights.

At least five people were placed under arrest around the Memorial Student Union at PSU after 8:00 p.m. local time, according to the Portland Police Bureau via KPTV. Posted online by journalist Andy Ngo, video caught angry protesters trying to go into the building Gaines was giving her speech in. (RELATED: Rep. The group’s protests against Gaines featured the Young Democratic Socialists at Portland State, Class PDX and the Portland State University Students for a Democratic Society.

Before Monday’s event, they made Gaines a target in a social media post.

“Demand PSU stop promoting trans hate!! Turning Point USA is known to promote transphobic, conservative hate. Riley Gaines, a former swimmer and anti-trans speaker, is invited to speak on campus. Join us Monday May 5th at 6pm in front of SMSU to stand against transphobia!”
