I’m not normally a Mets fan, but when I am …
New York Mets left fielder Brandon Nimmo isn’t a fan whatsoever of MLB‘s selection process when it comes to their All-Star Game, blasting the league for how they make sure that every franchise has at least one player featured. “The process is broken, I don’t think every team should get a person,” said Nimmo, per the New York Post. “It’s supposed to be All-Stars. It’s not supposed to be, ‘Who is the best player on every team?’ It’s supposed to be ‘Who are the best players in the major leagues?’”
Nimmo’s complaint was mainly about his teammate Juan Soto not being picked to the National League roster, and considering how Soto has been one of the best hitters in Major League Baseball this season, he’s not wrong.

I’ve gotta ride with Brandon Nimmo despite him being a Met. It is kind of participation trophy-ish to have it where every franchise has to have at least one player in the All-Star Game.
And then for it to result in superstars like Juan Soto missing it?
Yeah, we can’t be having that. This is most certainly something that Rob Manfred needs to change.
The Home Run Derby could be a little sexier too …

Overall though, I can still work with everything. Still much better than the NBA’s All-Star events.
