Mexico is ‘perpetuating chemical warfare’ making US. military train in sewer water

Mexico is “perpetuating chemical warfare” with Tijuana River sewage, putting the U.S. military members in danger.

VetComm founder Kate Monroe, retired Navy SEALs Robert Sweetman and Jeff Gum joined Trace Gallagher on “Fox News at Night” to discuss their experiences.

“They are perpetrating chemical warfare on our country by not stopping the thousands and thousands of gallons of raw sewage. These Navy Seals, the tip of the spear of the military in our country, is essentially chugging and nearly drowning in other people’s fecal matter, drugs that are contaminated there. Diseases you should not have to serve your country with… It’s absolutely insane that we’ve allowed it to go on this long. My hope is that this administration will put an end to it,” Monroe said.

“Being in the Navy Seals means that we are always training in the water,” Stweetman added. “So, where is the water in our new base? It’s right there next to Tijuana. When they allow all the 4 million gallons of water that is completely toxic human waste to come into the Pacific Ocean, that’s where we are training. That impacts us directly.”

Gallagher highlighted the apparent fact that the “most elite military in the country is training in sewer water.”

“Exactly. It was really rough. This is a problem that’s been going on for decades,” Gum reacted and discussed his experience in 2008. “I got sicker than I’ve ever been in my life. I got viral gastroenteritis. I would have to take IVs just to get fluids in me. … I persevered, pushed through and eventually made it, but many students ended up — getting dropped because they get ill and even if you make it through training and you are going through second phase and third phase and then you get to your SEAL team and you are diving and doing maritime operations, everyone is still exposed to this and getting sick. And we are really counting on President Trump, Pete Hegseth, and Elon to put pressure on the Mexican government to stop this.”

San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond reported similar findings on X.

“Instead of rerouting the flow during maintenance, [Mexico is] choosing the easy way out—dump it into the U.S. and make it our problem. This is unacceptable,” Desmond posted.

“Our communities, beaches, and environment deserve better. It’s time for federal action. We cannot continue to be the dumping ground for another country’s pollution.”

Unacceptable, indeed.
