Just a couple of days ago I was “Cocky Canes Fan” … what the hell happened?
In what’s becoming my annual dose of “get your hopes up just for them to shatter,” the 2nd-ranked Miami Hurricanes lost against the Louisville Cardinals in a game Friday night that they should have won. As a result, our undefeated season is cooked, and if we (particularly quarterback Carson Beck) don’t watch out, our chances of making the College Football Playoff will be as well.
Last season, we wet the bed against Georgia Tech. This season, it was against the unranked Cardinals. And to make it worse, it happened at home for our first defeat in Miami Gardens in two campaigns. And we got flat-out dominated! (RELATED: Holiday Bowl, Saudi Arabia Officials Had Meeting About Relocating Game To Middle East: REPORT)
The main reason we lost was because of Beck, who threw a whopping four interceptions in a game that I remember Georgia Bulldogs fans warning me about. “Just wait until he throws four picks in a game.” That’s an exact quote, by the way. The game was bad as a Canes fan, one that we never had the lead in.
And with Beck’s fourth INT, it came with only 30 seconds remaining in the contest, and the Hurricanes were in field goal range losing by a 24-21 score. It was a truly heartbreaking moment considering I thought we were going to end up pulling it out.
Well, as you just read from my blog, I’m not taking it well, and neither are other Canes fans. In fact, some are taking it so bad that they’re just blatantly beating the crap out of each other. That’s exactly what happened in a post-game brawl.

Sigh … what a horrible time to be a Miami Hurricanes fan … but it’s still all about that U.
