A Mexican illegal alien who rammed a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) vehicle on Tuesday is considered by the left to be a “journalist” — one who was recently awarded by the Los Angeles City Council for “exposing” ICE.
His name is Carlitos Ricardo Parias, and according to a Department of Justice (DOJ) press release, he misbehaved when several federal agents boxed him in with their vehicles on Tuesday so as to arrest him.
“Once the Camry was boxed in, federal agents approached it and gave Parias orders to exit the car and submit to arrest,” the press release notes. “Parias ignored those commands and drove the Camry both forward and back, hitting two of the law enforcement vehicles.”
“Given Parias’s continued refusal to comply with agents’ orders, an agent attempted to break the Camry’s driver’s side window. Parias still refused to submit to arrest, and then drove the Camry more aggressively, forward towards one law enforcement vehicle,” it continues.
He was eventually arrested, but not without a federal agent opening fire and wounding him and accidentally hitting a deputy marshal. He’s since been charged with assault on a federal officer.

So who is this schmuck?
Parias, 44, is a so-called “citizen journalist” who follows around ICE for his TikTok viewing audience of roughly 134,000 people.
“Some of these videos shared the locations of ICE agents at certain times,” according to Newsweek. “This practice has become common during the second Trump administration, as activists and other individuals have mobilized to share the identities or locations of ICE agents.”
Yet he’s beloved by the left.
“He has risen to become this very credible, respected and admired citizen journalist,” Los Angeles City Council member Curren Price’s spokesperson told NBC News. “He did it with a lot of love and a lot of passion and in a very courageous way.”
It’s telling how leftists feel the opposite way about NON-VIOLENT actual journalists like Nick Sorter and Savannah Hernandez, among others.
In August, Price’s office reportedly awarded Parias with a certificate in honor of his “unwavering commitment to keeping the South LA community informed, empowered and protected.”

The Trump administration views him quite differently.
“The illegal alien weaponized his vehicle and began ramming the law enforcement vehicle in an attempt to flee,” Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement.
“Fearing for the safety of the public and law enforcement, our officers followed their training and fired defensive shots,” she added.
Acting U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California Bill Essayli also slammed Parias.
“Vehicles are deadly weapons,” he said. “Anyone who uses them against federal agents risks arrest, imprisonment, and life-threatening injuries. We will continue to use every tool in our legal arsenal to protect our agents and enforce immigration laws passed by Congress.”

Like other illegal aliens, Parias also boasts a criminal record.
“He also has a history of driving without a license, failing to prove financial responsibility and resisting arrest,” according to the Los Angeles Times. “Parias also entered the country illegally from Mexico at an unknown time and place.”
Critics of the Trump administration have alleged that he’s just this really nice guy, even when following around ICE agents.
“You see some people on social media who are in your face,” Price’s deputy chief of staff, Jose Ugarte, said to the Times. “He’s nothing like that. He’s always respectful of everybody.”
“He’s just a very good person,” a neighbor told NBC News, adding that he once alerted her husband that they’d accidentally left a car window down.
His supporters have also alleged that he did nothing wrong and is being “targeted.”
“The whole community is shaken up,” Price’s spokesperson said. “This feels very targeted, and not for the right reasons.”
