Millions Of Americans In Southeast Face Severe Weather Threat With Large Hail, Damaging Wind Gusts Possible

Storms are continuing to threaten millions of Americans as the weekend progresses, doing so with the second season of severe weather just beginning.

Over 10 million Americans are facing a threat of severe storms Sunday, with scattered ones taking place throughout Saturday, but the biggest risk out of the two days is the former and will be seen in the Southeast, according to the FOX Forecast Center. The majority of the storms Friday that affected the Tennessee and Ohio Valleys concluded by Saturday morning.

A return of that severe weather is expected to take place Sunday, with the forecast center issuing a level 1 out of 5 severe threat that extends from Virginia to Florida in the Southeast, particularly on the coast. By Monday, the storms are expected to head out of the region.

The severe weather is moving in prior to a cold front that features arctic air that could potentially set new temperature records, with portions of the Southeast forecasted to experience a major dip in temperatures. Cities such as Atlanta, Georgia and Jackson, Mississippi will see low temperatures Monday, getting down to the 30s.
