Incredible! Unbelievable! All of the above!
When it comes to making a hole-in-one, there’s always a large amount of luck involved when it happens, but the shot that Mimi Rhodes landed in the last round Sunday of the Women’s British Open is on a completely different level.
At Royal Porthcawl’s fifth hole, which is 184 yards, Stephanie Kyriacou was the first to tee off and ended up pulling off a remarkable shot that saw her ball just one inch from going into the cup. Kyriacou was the playing partner of Rhodes. And then walked up Rhodes herself, who somehow, someway pulled off an even better shot than Kyriacou. And quite frankly, there’s no way she could’ve done this twice. (RELATED: Scottie Scheffler To Earn $18 Million Without Taking Single Shot)
Knocking the ball perfectly, the shot from Rhodes popped Kyriacou’s ball at an immaculate pace, causing it to ricochet to the right to go into the cup.
And it’s as beautiful as it sounds, ladies and gentlemen.

These are the kind of shots that you dream about making when you’re taking a practice round in the backyard, I know I do. I’ve made plenty of hole-in-ones in mini-golf, but never on an actual golf course. But hell, Rhodes took it to another level with that ricochet. And to pull it off in the Women’s British Open?
That’s the definition of ballin’.
