A 10-year-old student at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis described how his classmate shielded him during a mass shooting at the church earlier this week, saving his life but taking a bullet in the process, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.
Fifth-grader Weston Halsne spoke to KARE 11, NBC’s Minneapolis affiliate, explaining how his friend acted during the attack. “The shots were like, right next to me,” Weston said.
“My friend Victor, like saved me, though, because he layed on top of me, but he got hit.”

When asked about an apparent injury on his neck, Weston said, “I don’t even know what it’s from, kind of looks like debris or something.” He noted that his injured friend was helped out of the church after being struck.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara confirmed that the shooter, identified only as a male in his early 20s, entered the Catholic church during school mass and opened fire on children.
Authorities said two children were killed and at least 17 others were injured, including 14 children and three adults.
Police reported that the gunman was armed with a rifle, a shotgun, and a handgun. He died at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Investigators discovered that before the attack, the shooter had posted a manifesto on YouTube. The video displayed his firearms, with phrases such as “kill Donald Trump” written on the barrels and magazines.
In addition, footage showed a paper target with an image of Jesus Christ placed over the head.
