Missouri Governor Activates National Guard Ahead of ‘No Kings’ Anti-ICE Protests [WATCH]

Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe signed Executive Order 25-25 on Thursday, declaring a state of emergency and activating the Missouri National Guard in anticipation of nationwide protests organized by far-left groups set to take place on June 14, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

The action comes as violent unrest continues in cities like Los Angeles, where anti-ICE riots earlier this month left at least 11 officers injured and led to widespread destruction, including fires and blocked highways.

Kehoe’s executive order states that “the rule of law must be maintained in the cities of Kansas City, Springfield, St. Louis, and other affected communities, in the State of Missouri, for the protection, safety, welfare, and property of the citizens, visitors, and businesses of those communities.”

“We respect, and will defend, the right to peacefully protest, but we will not tolerate violence or lawlessness in our state.”

“While other states may wait for chaos to ensue, the State of Missouri is taking a proactive approach in the event that assistance is needed to support local law enforcement in protecting our citizens and communities.”

Attorney General Andrew Bailey expressed support for the move, writing in a post on X, “We will not allow what is going on in LA to happen in Missouri.”

Bailey praised Kehoe for “taking preemptive measures to ensure the lawlessness we’ve seen across our country does not reach our state.”

However, the order drew criticism from some Democratic officials. Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas’ office issued a statement raising concerns about selective enforcement.

“Mayor Lucas is concerned with enhanced state enforcement for one set of protestors, but no action or aid to local law enforcement when Neo-Nazis march through Missouri’s urban streets,” the statement read.

Missouri House Minority Leader Ashley Aune also criticized the emergency declaration.

“Governor Kehoe’s preemptive declaration of a state of emergency as Missourians prepare to protest an increasingly authoritarian presidential administration is a blatant attempt to intimidate and suppress First Amendment rights,” she said.

The protests are being organized by left-wing groups, including the Democratic Socialists of America, Party for Socialism and Liberation, Indivisible, and the 50501 Movement.

Branding the effort “No Kings,” organizers say they have scheduled over 1,800 demonstrations across all 50 states to protest deportation policies and President Donald Trump.

Protests in Los Angeles on June 6 sparked widespread violence following ICE enforcement operations, including street blockades and attacks on law enforcement with concrete and electric scooters.

Law enforcement officials in Missouri have not released specific locations for increased enforcement but say National Guard units will be available to assist local departments if needed.
