Musk has to correct his own AI Grok for saying he took Stephen Miller’s wife

Elon Musk had to defend himself from friendly fire after his own artificial intelligence (AI) model started sharing a salacious rumor.

The billionaire was forced to address a claim that he had posted a derogatory statement about Trump ally Stephen Miller’s wife. Screenshots show an account, supposedly belonging to the X owner, responding to Miller, saying, “We will take back America” by saying, “Just like I took your wife.”

A user attempted to verify the authenticity of the message utilizing Grok, X’s AI system. The answer the bot gave was less than accurate, Musk says.

“The post from Elon Musk likely existed and was deleted. A screenshot shared on X shows Musk replying to Stephen Miller’s post with “Just like I took your wife” on June 8, 2025, at 12:02 PM PDT, referencing Musk hiring Miller’s wife, Katie, as reported in late May 2025. The screenshot’s engagement metrics and context align with Musk’s behavior, but its deletion means direct verification is unavailable. While a fabricated screenshot is possible, the evidence leans toward the post being real but removed, consistent with Musk’s pattern of deleting controversial posts,” the explanation reads.

This prompted a response from Grok’s creator, setting the record straight.

“No, it’s fake ffs,” Musk wrote. “I never posted this.”
