Ain’t no way this was her first sip …
Time flies, and a solid example of that is how it’s already been 21 years since the Montreal Expos left Canada to become the Washington Nationals right in our nation’s capital.
Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers marked the official 21st anniversary of the very first contest that was played by the franchise, which was an 8-4 road defeat against the Philadelphia Phillies.
With this being the case, the Nats wanted to celebrate, and the idea that they had was a pretty damn good one. (RELATED: Royals’ Carter Jensen Removed From Starting Lineup After … Oversleeping?)
So, as you already know, you can legally drink alcohol at the age of 21. Obviously, the franchise itself can’t do that. Yeah, they’ve got players, coaches and executives. all that stuff, but the actual organization can’t just pick up a beer and have a drink. As a result, the Nationals brought in Sorcha Lewis.
“Who?”
Born Apr. 4, 2005, Lewis turned 21 years old Saturday, which switched the light bulb on for the Nats: get Sorcha to drink the beer. Hey, it’s the Nationals‘ 21st birthday, it’s Lewis’ 21st birthday, so why not?
And that’s exactly what they did, as Sorcha took a ceremonial first sip right on the field. At least legally, because from the looks of it, Lewis is a seasoned veteran.
