NBA Fight Breaks Out During Preseason Game, So Let’s All Act Like We Care About The League For A Few Seconds

I know Daily Caller readers couldn’t give a damn about the NBA. Believe me, I know this. But who doesn’t enjoy seeing a fight in sports?

On top of that, it’s been a pretty slow sports day. I mean, yeah, you can bring up the MLB playoffs, but even then, it’s been kind of boring this season. So, this is why we have time to fit a little NBA preseason into our lives, courtesy of a good ol’ fashioned rumble. Tuesday night saw the Houston Rockets and New Orleans Pelicans square off, but I’m not going to bore you with the game itself. Instead, I want to bring your attention to a fight that broke out between Houston forward Amen Thompson and New Orleans guard Jose Alvarado. And granted, it was a small scuffle, but the single elbow and swipe being thrown was enough to get my attention.

Thompson wasn’t a fan of the box-out from Alvarado in the second quarter and grabbed him by the head to twist him onto the court. Then, Thompson appears to throw an elbow at Alvarado which was followed up with a swipe. Quickly, the two were broken up by teammates.

Referees dished out a Flagrant Foul 1 to Thompson, while Alvarado was given a technical foul.

I still think sports leagues, conferences, etc. should allow their players to fight each other like hockey … entertainment value, baby.
