Artificial intelligence can be good, bad and downright ugly … this was downright ugly.
Sports journalism, and all-around journalism for that matter, is dead. Hell, it has been for a while. And in the sports world, it’s really bad in the NBA. Just look at what’s going on with NBA insider Chris Haynes right now, who is currently in hot water following his report Monday afternoon regarding D’Angelo Russell.
Haynes issued a report, if you can call it that, on his Twitter account that Russell was inking a deal with the Dallas Mavericks. But rather than being focused on the free agent frenzy, fans took notice right away of the horrible AI job that Haynes did. Clearly generated by artificial intelligence, Haynes had a photo of Russell attached to his report that showed him in a Daliers Mavericks jersey … wait, “Daliers?” (RELATED: Pistons’ Malik Beasley Caught Up In Federal Investigation Over Gambling Allegations: REPORT)
Yes, Daliers.
If you don’t know, it’s supposed to be the Dallas Mavericks.
Eventually, Haynes fixed up the photo…

I’ll be sure to get me a Cooper Flagg x Daliers Mavericks jersey sometime soon … absolute fire!
