New Football Regulator Chief Boasts About Donating Cash to Starmer
The government’s preferred choice for chairman of the new embattled football regulator David Kogan appeared in front of the Culture, Media and Sport Committee this morning for his pre-appointment hearing. Kogan, a media rights activist, discussed the press coverage of his links to Labour:
“They haven’t actually discovered all that I have done as a donor to Labour party and I’m prepared to declare now on the public record that five years ago I contributed very small sums of money to both the leadership campaigns of the Labour party of both Sir Keir Starmer and of Lisa Nandy – that hasn’t been discovered by the press, I’m happy to declare it now.”
That is on top of the nearly-£75,000 Kogan donated to Labour MPs and PPCs between 2023 and 2024. Kogan might end up on the pitch longer than the now-culture secretary whose entire department is up for the chop…
