NHL Reporter Jessi Pierce and 3 Children Die in White Bear Lake House Fire as Investigation Continues

NHL reporter Jessi Pierce and her three children were killed in a house fire in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, the league said Sunday, as local authorities continued to investigate what caused the blaze.

Pierce, 37, covered the Minnesota Wild as the Minnesota correspondent for NHL.com for the past decade and was widely known around the team and league as a daily presence on the beat.

Firefighters responded after neighbors called 911 reporting flames coming through the roof. The White Bear Lake Fire Department said crews found an adult, three children, and a dog inside the home, and all were deceased. Officials did not initially release names in the immediate aftermath, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Local reporting in Minnesota described Pierce as a familiar voice in the state’s hockey scene beyond NHL.com, including her work around the Wild and broader coverage in the region.
