Michael Cohen, the former personal attorney to President Donald Trump and one of his most prominent critics, publicly rejected recent claims suggesting any connection between Trump and Jeffrey Epstein.
The statements came during an interview with MSNBC host Ali Velshi, where Cohen addressed social media allegations made by Elon Musk.
Musk, in a now-deleted post on X, claimed that Trump was named in unreleased Epstein-related files, implying that this information had been suppressed from public disclosure.

The post, which quickly went viral, was later removed from Musk’s account without explanation.
In response, Cohen directly refuted Musk’s claim, stating that throughout his extensive time working with Trump, he saw no indication of any relationship between Trump and Epstein beyond what was already publicly known.
“I have zero knowledge of any relationship between Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, and I would have seen it over the course of my time with him,” Cohen said.
He added that while Trump, like many public figures, was listed in Epstein’s so-called “black book,” this alone does not indicate a substantive connection.

“While he knew Jeffrey Epstein, and while, yes, he may be in the files in the form of Trump being in the black book, so were hundreds and hundreds of very name-worthy, influential individuals,” Cohen said. “Let me dispel all of that notion.”
Cohen, who worked with Trump for over a decade, also noted that during his time closely involved with the president’s legal and business affairs, he encountered only one instance involving an allegation connected to Epstein.
That case, which he referenced during the interview, involved a civil complaint filed by a “Jane Doe” against Trump.
“In fact, there was one case that came up—it was a Jane Doe vs. Donald Trump—that brought this topic into question,” Cohen recalled.
“What I ultimately discovered is that the Jane Doe, and there was an address in the Bronx… I sent an investigator to that address. I wanted to literally follow and find out who this Jane Doe was. There’s not even a building there. It was a vacant lot.”
According to Cohen, he also contacted the attorneys involved in the case but found no substantiating evidence regarding the allegations.
“That was the first and only case that I had any knowledge of all of these allegations,” he added.
Velshi acknowledged Cohen’s familiarity with Trump, referencing Cohen’s prior federal prosecution and congressional testimony, which centered on Cohen’s extensive knowledge of the president’s personal and professional affairs.
Cohen confirmed that if such a relationship with Epstein existed, he would have been aware of it.

The segment aired amid heightened tensions between Trump and Musk, following the tech billionaire’s public criticism of Trump’s legislative agenda and recent social media posts.
Musk had previously been a high-profile supporter of Trump and served in an advisory role related to government efficiency efforts.
Cohen’s comments stand in contrast to the narrative pushed by many of Trump’s political opponents, and his defense of the president on this issue marks a rare moment of agreement between the former attorney and his former client.
