Office Depot fired an employee Friday who refused to print a poster for a Charlie Kirk vigil, calling it “propaganda.”
The office supply store released a statement Friday night saying the employee’s views and actions were insensitive and do not reflect those of the company, according to a post on X. (RELATED: Why The Left Is Wrong, People Need To Be Fired Over Charlie Kirk Death Celebrations)
“We are deeply concerned by the incident that occurred at Store 3382 in Portage, Michigan. The behavior displayed by our associate is completely unacceptable and insensitive, violates our company policies, and does not reflect the values we uphold at Office Depot. We sincerely apologize to the customer affected and to our community for this regrettable situation,” the post stated.

The post continued to say that Office Depot reached out to the affected customer to fulfill their order and also launched an investigation into the incident, which subsequently led to the employee being fired.
“Upon learning of the incident, we immediately reached out to the customer to address their concerns and seek to fulfill their order to their satisfaction. We also launched an immediate internal review and, as a result, the associate involved is no longer with the organization,” the post said.
“We are committed to reinforcing training with all team members to ensure our standards of respect, integrity, and customer service are upheld at every location. Our customers and communities deserve nothing less,” the post added.
The incident took place Friday after the Kalamazoo County Republican Party placed an order in the early afternoon for a vigil scheduled the same evening. Three hours later, a store print supervisor named “Beryl” called organizers to inform them the order would not be completed.
“Today at 2:24 PM, the Kalamazoo County Republican Party #KGOP placed an order for a poster of #CharlieKirk for a vigil tonight. At 5:30 “Beryl” the print supervisor (guy on left) called and said they are refusing to print the poster because it is ‘propaganda.’ Hey @officedepot @OfficeMax do you think this is acceptable?” Matthew DePerno, an attorney and Republican activist, posted to X on Friday.
