In late March, a sizeable congregation of between 70 and 80 from various congregations met at Providence Chapel in Dudley. The occasion was the first public meeting of the Church Support Fellowship (CSF).
CSF was formed some five years ago as it became clear to several of us that many smaller churches needed help and in some cases were in danger of closing.
The needs we discovered were varied. Some without pastors were finding it hard to fill the pulpit, and others were finding it hard to negotiate the minefield of perplexing legislation that had recently been introduced.
