A senior Israeli official told Fox News that more than 1,000 enemy combatants in Iran have been killed since the start of Operation Epic Fury, according to the latest battle damage assessment reported by Fox News foreign correspondent Trey Yingst.
The operation, which Israel launched as part of its military campaign against Iranian threats, continues to unfold as Israeli forces also shift attention to potential escalation along the country’s northern border with Lebanon.
Israeli officials have placed troops into southern Lebanon as part of what they describe as a defensive posture against Hezbollah, the Iran-backed terror group that has carried out attacks against Israel in the past.

Yingst reported that the latest figures came from Israeli officials evaluating the impact of the campaign.

“As we continue to track developments here, we are looking to Israel’s northern border with Lebanon, where overnight, the Israelis sent forces into southern Lebanon to take what Israeli officials are calling a defensive posture against the Iran backed terror group Hezbollah.”

According to Yingst, the deployment is intended to deter further cross-border attacks as concerns grow about Hezbollah’s potential involvement in the broader conflict.
“This posture is expected to remain over concerns about cross border attacks.”
Overnight, additional rockets were fired into northern Israel from Lebanon, prompting Israeli forces to launch retaliatory strikes targeting locations in Beirut believed to be linked to Hezbollah operations.
“Overnight, more rockets were fired into northern Israel from Lebanon and the Israelis striking back, hitting more targets in the Lebanese capital of Beirut, specifically around the Dahieh neighborhood, a Hezbollah stronghold.”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also addressed the threat posed by Iran’s expanding missile arsenal during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity. Netanyahu warned that Iran’s ballistic missile program represents a significant danger not only to Israel but also to other nations if left unchecked.
“With these ballistic missiles, these weapons of mass death, these Weapons of Terror, they’re terror weapons. They bombed all these countries. And when they develop the intercontinental ballistic missiles, they’ll threaten you, and eventually they’ll bomb you.”
Netanyahu pointed to President Donald Trump’s decision to take action against Iran’s growing military capabilities.
“This is what President Trump understood, and alone among us, presidents that I’ve worked with, he took action.”
