Efforts to purge “political weaponization” in the federal government found FBI Director Kash Patel citing “poor judgment” in terminating an agent connected to the Steele Dossier and more.
Demands for accountability from Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley (R) and the American people bore fruit this week, as it was reported that multiple senior FBI officials were fired. Among the alleged “deep state” actors was now-former Special Agent Walter Giardina said to have once instructed fellow agents to use false justification to “dig around” on President Donald Trump.
MSNBC’s Ken Dilanian obtained the letter sent Friday to Giardina by Patel that began, “This document provides official notice that you are being summarily dismissed from your position at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and removed from the federal service, under my authority as the FBI Director, effective immediately.”
“You have exercised poor judgment and a lack of impartiality in carrying out duties, leading to the political weaponization of the government,” added the director. “Pursuant to Article II of the United States Constitution and the laws of the United States, your employment with the Federal Bureau of Investigation is hereby terminated.”
Nothing screams guilt louder than running to Ken Dilanian, a known intelligence operative, colloquially known as a “CIA mop-up man” and “Fusion Ken”.

Highlighting points made by Grassley in a June letter to Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi — that included Giardina’s initial receipt of the Steele Dossier and corroboration of the report, open animosity toward Trump and wiping of the laptop he was assigned while working for then-Special Counsel Robert Mueller “outside of established protocol for record preservation” — attorney Hans Mahncke had previously laid out, “The case of corrupt FBI agent Walter Giardina is highly instructive–mainly because most people have never even heard of him, despite the staggering amount of damage he caused.”
“From Russiagate to the J6 witch hunt, Giardina left a trail of anti-Trump sabotage across multiple high-profile investigations,” he went on. “I had only vaguely heard of him years ago, when super-sleuths @walkafyre and @ClimateAudit managed to deduce that his name was hiding behind one of the many blacked-out redactions in FBI documents.”

Mahncke went on to wonder, “how many more of these deeply corrupt actors are still being protected behind redactions and secrecy?” and figured, “probably a lot. It’s like playing whack-a-mole without knowing how many moles are under the board, only that they’re everywhere.”
Among those lauding the move by Patel was Trump senior counselor Peter Navarro, who reminded that Giardina had been in charge of his June 2022 arrest at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport after his refusal to testify before the Jan. 6 committee.
“Maybe Walt should be in the slammer, not @RealPNavarro,” the adviser said in a post shared by Eric Daugherty, who added, “This guy was as Deep State as they come. He’s now OUT of the Bureau. This is a massive win.”

Good, now get everyone else like him out too. No place for political activists in law enforcement, period.

Absolutely, accountability at last. These agencies need checks, not unchecked power. Good move for restoring trust.

Patel concluded with a reminder about Giardina’s potential to appeal with the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board within 30 days of the date of his removal if applicable.
