Paul Skenes Wants ‘Dominance Over Everyone Else’ For Team USA In World Baseball Classic After Olympic Glory

Paul Skenes is one of my favorite baseball players, if not my favorite … that just got elevated.

After witnessing the United States doing their thing at the 2026 Winter Olympics, Pittsburgh Pirates superstar pitcher Paul Skenes hopes that Team USA can keep rolling along with its “dominance” in the World Baseball Classic (WBC).

Skenes will be competing in the WBC for Team USA starting Mar. 5, joining top American talent such as New York Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge, Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh and Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Tarik Skubal.

Skenes is very well aware of the grade-A showing from the United States at the Winter Games in Milan, winning a record-setting 12 gold medals, with the U.S. also getting the top prizes in men’s and women’s hockey. The Pirates pitcher was questioned regarding the U.S.’s momentum going into the Classic.

“Yeah, men’s hockey, women’s hockey, all the golds that we won in the Olympics,” said Skenes, per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “We’re America. We’ve got to assert our dominance over everyone else. That’s what we do.

“It’s gonna be fun. If USA wins, it’s what we do. Gotta keep it going.”

My wife gets annoyed with me because of how much I love Paul Skenes … well … things aren’t getting any better for her. (LOL)
