Police found a bag of suspected cocaine in a child’s Halloween candy Saturday night in a Pennsylvania borough, according to an announcement.
Ingram Borough Police issued a community alert after parents discovered the substance while checking their child’s trick-or-treat bag. Officers said preliminary tests showed positive results for cocaine.
“We received a report of an unknown substance, suspected cocaine, found in a bag after trick or treat yesterday,” Ingram police wrote in a Facebook post Sunday. “The powder was in a small knotted baggie and was discovered last night.” (RELATED: Massachusetts Town’s Sewage System Teeming With Cocaine, Report Finds)
Police said they do not know where someone placed the drugs in the child’s bag during Saturday’s trick-or-treating activities.

The CBS News in Pittsburgh reported the incident occurred in Allegheny County. Parents turned the evidence over to police after finding it Saturday night.
The investigation continues. Police said they will update the community when they obtain more information about how the drugs ended up with the Halloween candy.
