Golf legend Phil Mickelson feels the same way that a lot of us do when it comes to the political assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
For most people, their reaction has been normal, meaning showing sadness towards the shocking murder of a husband and father of two children who was just 31 years old. With that being said, you can’t brush off the blatant ignorance in some who are celebrating the killing of a genuine soldier of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, which truly shows the large amount of evil we have in this world. One person who isn’t letting it slide, however, is Mickelson. He took to social media recently to call out the disgusting behavior.
“The assassination of Charlie Kirk is bringing out some of the best in humanity and it’s also exposing some of the worst. The unification, love, support, and outcry on his behalf throughout the world is heartwarming,” tweeted Mickelson. “The number of people supporting Tyler Robinson’s appalling behavior has opened my eyes to a side of extremism with a moral superiority complex that has also shaken my belief in people in general. I hope they are held accountable for their disgusting rhetoric.”

Mickelson was reacting to a video of Oxford Union debate society president George Abaraonye seemingly promoting political violence. Per the New York Post, Abaraonye allegedly wrote on WhatsApp, “Charlie Kirk got shot, let’s f*cking go,” following the assassination of Kirk.
