Piers Morgan Hospitalized, Undergoes Surgery After Tripping, Suffering ‘Fractured Neck Of Femur’

British broadcaster Piers Morgan announced he was hospitalized and will need hip replacement surgery after a fall left him with a fractured femur.

The 60-year-old political commentator shared the news Sunday on social media with a selfie from his hospital bed. Morgan posted a thumbs-up photo along with a numbered list explaining what happened and why he needed the operation.

The former “Good Morning Britain” host said he will need crutches for six weeks. He also cannot fly long distances for 12 weeks while he recovers. Morgan ended his post with his trademark humor. He joked that his “New Year (is) off to a cracking start.”

Morgan has hosted “Piers Morgan Uncensored” since 2022, Fox News reported. The YouTube show frequently features guests from across the political spectrum and often produces heated exchanges.

Just days before his fall, Morgan confronted Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters on his program over comments about dictators and terrorist groups.

This is not the first time Morgan has shared a hospital update with jokes, Hello Magazine reported. In 2019, he was hospitalized for stomach gastritis and duodenitis.

He blamed his condition on “eating a mouthful of vegan sausage roll, Brexit & Donald Trump.” The broadcaster also tore a tendon during a 2020 family holiday in Saint Tropez and had to use crutches for that trip.
