The scandal Dennis Santana would’ve sparked up if he would’ve actually hit him … Lord have mercy.
Pittsburgh Pirates relief pitcher Dennis Santana found himself in quite the situation with a fan during Game 2 of the doubleheader Thursday between his Pirates and the Detroit Tigers, being seen jumping in an attempt to smack the ever-loving taste out of a fan’s mouth.
In footage that was published on social media, Santana is seen speaking with a security guard and pointing out the fan, eventually leaping and attempting to slap the fan who was located in the front row. The scene took place at Comerica Park in the Pirates bullpen.
It appears that the fan was wearing a Detroit hat and Pirates jersey honoring the franchise’s Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente. (RELATED: Dodgers Claim They Turned Away ICE Agents, But The Feds Proved Them To Be Full Of You Know What)
Following the intense moment, Santana was taken away by Pittsburgh bullpen personnel, with teammates also holding him back in the process.
Santana came into the game during the eighth inning, only facing off against one batter prior to the game being put into a rain delay. Pittsburgh won the contest, 8-4.

“You guys know me. I’m a calm demeanor type of person. I’ve never had any issues for any of the teams that I’ve played for. I guess the guy crossed the line a few times.”
