Post touts ‘kind, decent, loyal’ Joe Biden but the photo is a big problem

A picture of former President Joe Biden playing with his granddaughter is getting a lot of attention for its ironic caption.

The media has always tried to paint Biden as a very family-oriented man, with the former president often making reference to his children and grandchildren. That is, until it comes to Navy Joan Roberts, born to Hunter Biden and Lunden Roberts, whom he only recognized publicly one time. Even Hunter, Navy’s biological father, has a limited relationship with her that is “built through Zoom,” according to Roberts.

“Hunter’s relationship with his daughter has been built through Zoom,” she told Piers Morgan during an interview. “He was required to call once a month or something like that. Navy gets to pick out one of his paintings, and that’s how they would start building a relationship. However, Hunter went above and beyond. He not only called her once a month, but once they started building a relationship, he wanted to call weekly or sometimes a couple of times a week just to talk to her. When she goes into surgery, he wants to Zoom and talk to her. He calls to check on her at different times and things like that. He has gone above what the time frame required and has done that for her, which I appreciate tremendously.”

Perhaps it is for this reason that such an adorable picture has left a bad taste in the mouths of many:

“Kind. Decent. Loyal,” the caption reads, a stark contrast to the realities of being an inconvenient grandchild in the Biden family.
