It’s expected that the president will announce that playing host for the 2027 version of the draft will be the National Mall, and it’s also expected that he will be making this announcement alongside NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and Washington Commanders owner Josh Harris. Axios and the Associated Press were the first to report the news, which was followed by the White House teasing a huge announcement.
The NFL has switched up their host cities every year since 2015, with New York City’s Radio City Music Hall once being the traditional venue. Here in 2025, the draft was held in Green Bay, with the 2026 version being held in Pittsburgh.
The news comes after the plan from the Washington D.C. government to build a new stadium that will actually be located in the district. It will serve as a replacement for RFK Stadium.
