President Trump Wants To See Return Of Iconic Sports Brands Such As ‘Redskins’

The Redskins and Indians definitely need to return, sports just aren’t the same without them.

As we all know, the world of sports journalism is very to the left, so when it comes to legendary brands such as the “Redskins” and “Indians,” it’s almost like they didn’t exist because they very rarely get mentioned. But President Donald Trump, he absolutely loves the names that honor our Native American history.

The president spoke about this topic when questioned about possibly bringing back the Washington Redskins brand that would be linked to a deal for a new stadium located in Washington D.C. He brought up the civil war between sports media and sports fans on the issue. (RELATED: NFL Legend Jay Feely Officially Announces Run For US Congress)

A poll from The Washington Post in 2016 backs up Trump, as it revealed 90% of Native Americans didn’t mind the Redskins name, which suggests that the community strongly supports the brands that honor their heritage.

“The Indian population is a great part of this country, great heritage,” said Trump. “I think it’s degrading to the Indian population,” he added regarding the name changes, “and it’s a great population, and they like when they’re called by various names.”
