Pritzker boasts about having sources within Trump admin who ‘let us know things’

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker keeps leaking information about President Donald Trump’s crime and immigration enforcement operations to the public.

It started on Tuesday, when he gave a press conference announcing that President Trump is planning to send Texas National Guard troops to Chicago to restore order.

“Donald Trump is positioning armed federal agents and staging military vehicles on federal property such as the Great Lakes naval base,” he said. “It is likely those agents will be with ICE, Customs and Border Patrol, the Department of Homeland Security and other similarly situated federal agencies.”

“We have reason to believe that the Trump administration has already begun staging the Texas National Guard for deployment in Illinois,” he added.

When asked how he knew this, Pritzker pointed to leaks from so-called “patriotic Americans” in the federal government.

“Let’s be clear: I’m not going to reveal the sources,” he said. “These are people who are patriotic Americans who either work in the administration or work in the various branches of the military who’ve been willing to share what they know with us.”

Pritzker doubled on the “patriotic” element of his remarks while speaking on MSNBC host Jen Psaki’s podcast on Friday.

“There are a lot of patriotic Americans who work in the administration, or work at the departments or in the military, who have let us know things without having permission to do so,” he revealed.

According to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, it’s all bull.

“Texas is not preparing to deploy troops to Illinois, a spokesman for Abbott said on Tuesday afternoon,” according to the Houston Chronicle.

This means that either the plan really isn’t real, or IT IS REAL and the administration has been trying to keep it a secret, which in turn would make Pritzker a big, fat tattletale and possible “traitor” who needs to be held accountable, as argued by critics.

He’s bragging about colluding with leakers in order to prevent federal law enforcement from performing their duties. He should be investigated for obstruction, at the least.

Andy Craig, a leftist who shares his thoughts via The UnPopulist, for his part, also suspects Abbott isn’t being completely honest.

“Another reason Abbott’s insistence that there’s no truth in Pritzker’s claims is hard to believe is he has a record of aggressively deploying the National Guard for immigration enforcement in his own state,” Craig wrote on Friday.

“Moreover, as noted earlier, several other Republican states already previously obliged Trump and eagerly sent troops to participate in the similar chaos-inducing and economically destructive occupation of the nation’s capital,” he added.

FYI, the so-called “occupation” of D.C. turned out to be highly successful.

“According to data released by the city’s Metropolitan Police Department, overall crime in D.C. has decreased by 15% and violent crime has decreased 39%, during the federal enforcement surge compared to the same time last year,” NewsNation notes.

Similarly, homicides have dropped 58 percent, and robberies have declined 57 percent.
