NBA forward Marcus Morris was arrested Sunday on felony fraud charges after prosecutors said he stiffed two Las Vegas casinos out of more than a quarter-million dollars.
Morris was denied bail after being taken into custody in Florida, according to TMZ. Prosecutors allege he wrote $265,000 in bad checks to the MGM Grand and the Wynn last year — $115,000 in May 2024 and another $150,000 in June — and never made good on the payments once they bounced. Two separate arrest warrants were issued for Morris earlier this year, according to the outlet. He was taken into custody Sunday at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, where he remains.
Morris’ attorneys asked the judge to grant bond, arguing he’s actively repaying the Nevada debts and could do so faster if released. The judge refused, TMZ reported, saying she’ll free him only to Nevada authorities for extradition — unless the outstanding warrants are quashed. Morris stood silent while his lawyers made the case.

Morris’ agent addressed the charges in a Sunday social media post, insisting “this is zero fraud here” and calling the case “absolute insanity!”
This is a developing story.
