Who said college football season was over?!
At first glance, we all thought this weekend was going to be a slow one in terms of college football considering there weren’t many games Saturday. I mean, hell, I only had three on my radar — Army-Navy, Cricket Celebration Bowl (South Carolina State vs. Prairie View A&M) and Bucked Up LA Bowl (Boise State vs. Washington).
But then Ferris State and Newberry College gave us something to cook with.
In Saturday’s Division II semifinal matchup, the Bulldogs faced off against the Wolves, and not to ruin it for you if you didn’t watch the game and plan on seeing it later, but Ferris State dominated from start to finish. The Bulldogs rolled to a commanding 49-17 victory, and it’s easy to see why Newberry might have felt a bit irritated as their day unfolded.
That frustration boiled over a bit when Ferris State quarterback Chase Carter clutched the ball and fought for a touchdown.
However, a couple of yards past the goal line, Carter was absolutely crushed by a late hit, and that’s when the cavalry charged in.
You can watch the wild video here.
