President Donald J. Trump’s deployment of the National Guard in Washington, D.C. has been such a success that he’s planning to expand the crime crackdown to other Democrat-run cities, with Chicago next on the list.
During a Friday exchange with reporters in the Oval Office, Trump jabbed Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson over his inability to get a handle on violent criminals in the Windy City, where shootings make the news on a nearly daily basis.
“Chicago’s a mess. You have an incompetent mayor. Grossly incompetent and we’ll straighten that one out probably next, that will be our next one after this,” Trump said. “And it won’t even be tough.”

Trump’s words didn’t sit well with Mayor Johnson, a man whose gross incompetence during his lamentable tenure has Chicagoans longing for the good old days of Lori Lightfoot.
Investing in our communities is what makes our city safer. There are many things the federal government could do to help us reduce crime and violence in Chicago, but sending in the military is not one of them. pic.twitter.com/dBt2L7VpFm

“We take President Trump’s statements seriously, but to be clear the City has not received any formal communication from the Trump administration regarding additional federal law enforcement or military deployments to Chicago. Certainly, we have grave concerns about the impact of any unlawful deployment of National Guard troops to the City of Chicago. The problem with the President’s approach is that it is uncoordinated, uncalled for, and unsound,” Johnson said in a Friday statement.
The potential move by Trump to do the job that Democrats won’t also triggered morbidly obese billionaire Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, who railed against the president in his own post to X, falling back on the party’s Epstein files hoax and calling the crime cleanup an” authoritarian power grab of major cities.”

1. Cheaper groceries
2. No Medicaid and SNAP cuts

“As Donald Trump attempts to create chaos that distracts from his problems, we will call it out for what it is. Trump and Republicans are trying to distract from the pain they are causing working families–from tariffs raising the prices of everyday goods to stripping away healthcare and food from millions of Americans,” Pritzker said in a statement, insisting that local law enforcement is best equipped to handle the Chicago problem.
Like other cities under their control, Democrats and their friends in the media like to tout that the numbers show that crime has been decreasing in Chicago, but there is much controversy over the statistics, which have reportedly been manipulated in a manner to downplay the violence.
“Unlawfully deploying the National Guard to Chicago has the potential to inflame tensions between residents and law enforcement when we know that trust between police and residents is foundational to building safer communities. An unlawful deployment would be unsustainable and would threaten to undermine the historic progress we have made. In the past year alone, we have reduced homicides by more than 30%, robberies by 35%, and shootings by almost 40%. We need to continue to invest in what is working,” Mayor Johnson said.
A flaming racist, Hizzoner recently said that Trump has “always been intimidated by the intellectual prowess of black men,” and has a history of making similar anti-white comments.
