Rep. Van Orden Slams Top-Down Orders: ‘We’re Not A Bunch of Little B*tches Around Here’

Republican Wisconsin Rep. Derrick Van Orden had sharp words about the pressure on House Republicans to back President Donald Trump’s signature legislation.

When asked by a Punchbowl reporter about the reconciliation bill, Van Orden allegedly stated, “The president of the United States didn’t give us an assignment. We’re not a bunch of little bitches around here, okay? I’m a member of Congress. I represent almost 800,000 Wisconsinnites.” (RELATED: Liberal State Supreme Court Throws Wrench In Dems’ Plan For Taking Back House)

Van Orden’s office claimed that the reporter did not offer sufficient context on the congressman’s comments in her post.

“This is why the American public can’t stand the mainstream press,” his press office stated on X.

“Ms. Nguyen failed to provide the context of her question, which asked if the Republican Party is being ‘led by the nose by President Trump,’” Van Orden’s office said. (RELATED: Editor Daily Rundown: Trump And Johnson Urge House GOP To Pass ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ By Independence Day)

“She also conveniently omitted the rest of Rep. Van Orden’s response, where he stated that Pres. Trump is the leader of the GOP and House Republicans are working in close collaboration with the administration on this bill,” the post continued.

“Rep. Van Orden looks forward to passing the One, Big, Beautiful Bill and getting it to President Trump’s desk to be signed into law,” the office added.

In a video posted to X by the House GOP says that members are unified and prepared to pass the “Big, Beautiful Bill,” and adds that it would provide historic tax relief for working- and middle-class Americans while boosting the economy and reviving the American Dream.

Van Orden appeared in a video attached to the House GOP’s post stating, “We want to take care of our seniors, we want to take care of those who are most vulnerable amongst us.” (RELATED: Trump’s Signature Legislation Moves Forward Amid GOP Dissent)

Van Orden spent 26 years in the U.S. Navy as a Navy SEAL Senior Chief, completing multiple combat tours.

He also served across the Horn of Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas, and, in 2012, led Special Operations planning for Europe.

The Daily Caller reached out to Van Orden’s office for comment but did not receive a response prior to publication.
